For our bows we like to use McGinley Satin 100% acetate ribbon that is 1 to 1 1/2 inches wide. To make a bow for a shirt or sweater box, make a loop of ribbon about 4 to 5 inches in diameter. Place a piece of tape on the ribbon to secure the loop.
( Adjust the size of the loop for larger or smaller size packages.)

Continue to loop the ribbon 9 to 10 times.

Cut the ribbon leaving a 2 inch tail.

Fold in half with tail end of ribbon on top.

Cut indentation to make a diagonal notch. Use very sharp scissors.

Turn ribbon over and make an even notch on the other side.

Holding securely, unfold ribbon.

Holding in the middle, tie a piece of curling ribbon around the notch.

Tie very tightly.

With ribbon tail and curling ribbon knot on the bottom, begin pulling out loops. Begin from the inside and pull diagonally from the left and then the right.

Repeat procedure on the other half.

When finished pulling, fluff out loops.

Now that your bow is made, tie a ribbon around the package and attach the bow with the curling ribbon tails.
